Geotechnical Engineering Technician I/II
\n\n When hired for this position you will be involved with routine geotechnical construction observation and testing of soil and asphalt materials, basic\n calculations and data reduction of test results, the preparation of daily field reports documenting construction\n activities and test results, and other administrative duties, as appropriate.
\n\nWork Environment: The employee may be exposed to weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments. Noise levels will typically be moderate to\n moderately loud. Some weekend and overtime work, as well as travel, may be required.
\n\n\n Physical Requirements: These physical demands are representative of what a field technician may encounter and are essential\n functions of the position. You will be involved primarily with outdoor field work. You should have the ability to work safely on a construction site. Lifting – The employee will regularly lift and/or move/shake up to about 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable\n individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.\n
\n\nQualifications:
\n\n\n- High School/GED diploma or AA degree.
\n - 6 months to 3 years related soils/asphalt field observation and testing experience.
\n - Technician Certification [minimum] – Radiation safety for nuclear density gauge.
\n - Experience performing routine laboratory soil tests, Proctors, etc., are a plus.
\n
